The IFFP Shadow Panel Wants You!

Position Vacant: Shadow Panellists for the 2015 IFFP

We are a small organisation looking for enthusiastic individuals to join our team of reviewers shadowing the 2015 Independent Foreign Fiction Prize.  While our enterprise has only been around for three years, we believe that we have established ourselves as a permanent fixture on the literary landscape, and we are looking to expand our scope for our fourth year of operation by bringing several like-minded people on board.

Applicants should have a passion for literary fiction in translation and a desire to promote books IFFP 2015 - Longlist Predictionsoriginally written in languages other than English to a wider audience.  A knowledge of foreign languages is useful, but not essential (because the books are, well, translated).  You must have good critical thinking capabilities and the ability to work under time pressure to meet tight deadlines, especially as some of the books might be a bit long.

You will be able to work from home, and the hours are reasonably flexible.  Sadly, remuneration is not available, other than the satisfaction of a job well done.

If this sounds like a position for you, please contact Stu Allen at Winstonsdad’s Blog or Tony Malone at Tony’s Reading List.  Interviews will begin shortly, and successful candidates will be notified before the end of the month.

Please note: the IFFP Shadow Panel is an equal opportunities employer, and diversity of all kinds is welcomed (except people who don’t like books – you can all get stuffed).
