You may have noticed that things are looking a little different around these parts… Never fear, it’s all deliberate and (I hope) an improvement on the old template. I’ve been wanting to change to a theme which puts several posts on the home screen for a while now, and I went for this one on a whim last night – let’s see how it works.
For those of you missing some of the usual links, they are still available. All of the information which used to be located at the top of the blog (lists of reviews from this and previous years, my info etc) and the sections previously situated down the right-hand side (search bar, tags etc) can be found by clicking on the icon in the top-right-hand corner – simple.
Let me know what you think (if there’s anyone out there reading this, anyway…) – I’d love to get some feedback 🙂
Hi Tony, I hate to say this, but I prefer the old look. Greetings, Erik

Ummm. Well I’m a bit of a technolaggard, and have to say I can’t even access the site now on my old phone as the graphics take too long to load up.
I prefer the Michael O Complete Review approach – keep it simple and keep it the same.

Paul – An unexpected hitch, not one I’d thought of…

I disagree with Erik – I like the new look! (So now, there’s some mixed feedback 😉 )

Kaggsy – Good to hear – I do like the layout, especially having multiple posts on the front page.

Clicked on icon top right corner, nothing happened.

Violeta – That’s unusual, it’s fine here – is that phone or computer? Windows, Android or Apple?

It’s Apple laptop. I see everyone else was able to see it. I clicked on the W icon in upper right hand corner. Right? Hope it can be resolved.
I so enjoy your reviews and we often have similar opinions. E.g. I love Javier Marias ,but I also was not so keen on his latest, which I went to the trouble of ordering from the UK, as I couldn’t wait to read it. I am your fan!

Hah! I opened it in the browser and think I now see everything, though the visual of your (?) screen, with Kafka in the middle is fuzzy and I can’t really read what the titles are too well. Have you sent anything since June 18? This is the most recent one I got.

Clicked on the notifies at bottom.

Violeta – No, it’s Proust 😉 The photos that work best are the ones I take myself with a background around the book – the photos that are full screen are too big for this really. Glad you’re able to see things now 🙂

First thoughts are that it looks a bit too minimalist for me…but give it time….

Oh, I was still viewing it through the WordPress viewer, that was why it was so minimal.

Hello Tony! Wow! Quite a change. I am not sure if I like or dislike the ‘home’ page. I guess it’s a matter of getting used to. However, for me the ‘menu’ and ‘links’ both seem a bit less ‘user friendly’ that way.

Space Cadet – It’s definitely a step towards aesthetics over functionality, but once you get used to gravitating towards the icon, it does get easier – promise 😉

I’m on my android phone and it looks good to me. I’ve been thinking of doing the same. The long scroll through individual posts feels dated, doesn’t it?

Laura – That’s exactly what I thought – just having the whole (most recent) post greeting the reader seems a little off-putting…

I only ever read blogs on the WP app on my iPhone, so no change here! 😉
